Literature Text

You sat on your floor, admiring the new objects that your parents had given you. They were just out in the living room, waiting for your guests that were soon to arrive.

You smiled lightly as you picked up one of the larger feathers in your collection, one from a beautiful peacock. It shimmered in the light that glowed from behind your blinds, and your room was illuminated brightly.

You looked over your feather collection you'd gotten from your mother. She said she'd done it when she was 12 also, and she gave you the feathers she'd collected over the years, and you kept up on adding to it day by day. You were sure to be careful with them, always treating them with tenderness and care.

You sighed with a smile, placing the feather down gently and brushing your fingers over a bald Eagle feather. It was smooth, like most of the other feathers. You thought all of the feathers were beautiful, it was what made the birds themselves pretty and unique.

The sound of your door being opened made you turn, and once you saw a familiar German gazing at you with beautiful eyes, you smiled, and he couldn't help but to smile back as his eyes softened. He sat his coat politely on a chair beside your bed, walking over to sit behind you, his legs on either side of yours as his arms encircled your stomach, gently pulling you back into his warm chest.

You smiled, leaning into his strong body. The warmth and feel of his firm chest reassured you as you gazed down at the feathers lined up in front of you. One of your hands rubbed his arms while the other carefully picked up a medium-sized blue feather with little black stripes along it. A Blue Jay.

Ludwig gently plucked the feather from your fingers, spinning it in a small circle. You smiled as he nuzzled your cheek, kissing it gently.

"How are you?" You asked, taking the feather back and placing it down again.

The blonde simply hummed, taking your hair and brushing it to the right side of your neck. You smiled as he leaned down, moving your shirt and kissing your bare shoulder. He trailed the feather light kisses up your neck, under your ear, until his nose was buried in your hair. You smiled at all the affection, Ludwig must be in a good mood.

You, still smiling, turned slightly in his arms, gazing into his icy blue eyes sweetly with your own. He grinned and leaned in, kissing your lips softly.

When the lip lock broke, you smiled at him. He smiled back, holding you close and tenderly, like you would break under any amount of pressure.

Both of you decided to keep the affection at a minimum, because you both felt something for each other. You were too afraid to call it love yet, just a strong liking for each other. You both agreed to wait until you were older to act on anything, and to just keep it at light kisses for the time being. And you both could still act like best friends without anything being awkward or anything.

"(Name), Ludwig, Dinner!" You heard your mother call, and you smiled. Ludwig stood before taking your hand and carefully pulling you up.

"Thank you." You smiled, and he squeezed your hand.

"You're welcome." He smiled back, and the two of you walked to the table, sitting next to each other.

Ever since you two met, it was an instant connection. From strangers to best friends in a matter of hours at the park when you two were younger. You always felt safe with him, and you promised each other that you'd stay together no matter what.

And you both smiled at each other when you linked hands under the table.

[End]
